your privacy is important to us. it is our policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you through our app. this privacy policy is concerning the app, "Poi", and its associated services such as backend APIs, data transformations and our websites.

information we collect

the app uses @AppStorage to store the user settings and the app state. this data is stored locally on the user's device and is not collected or shared with us over the internet.

some information about you is stored on our servers for authentification and analytics purposes. this information can include your cards (notes/audio/etc), email address, name, username and when you joined. we do not store any other personal information about you such as location or payment information.

payments and subscriptions

we do not store any payment information. all payments are processed by the app store.

authentication

we offer the ability to sign in with multiple services, Apple, Google and email. we may offer more services in the future.

we use supabase for authentication. when you sign in, we store your email address and name on supabase. to process sending emails for one-time-passwords we use resend.com which stores your email address.

security

we value your trust in providing us your personal information, which is why we use industry standard services to store and process your data.

we never have access to your password and auth requests are sent over a secure connection.

currently, sending data related to your notes is not encrypted but we plan to implement this in the future and will communicate this on our channels as it becomes available.

artificial intelligence

we use AI to create context and transform cards inside the app. this includes transcriptions of your voice notes and recognition of connections between your data. this is performed on our servers with local implementations of AI models. tools we use include, but are not limited to, OpenAI, fal.ai and on-device models.

we strive to not share any of your data with third parties and refrain from using APIs that require us to share your data when possible, but cannot guarantee this as we may experiment with new AI models.

analytics

we run analytics on our app to understand how users are using Poi. to analyse this information we use grafana, coolify and supabase. this allows us to understand how many cards users generate and how active they are. we strive to protect your privacy in doing so, but if you have any concerns please get in touch with us.

policy changes

we may update our privacy policy from time to time. we encourage you to review this policy whenever you use our app to stay informed about our information practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy.

your continued use of our app after any changes to this policy will be regarded as acceptance of our practices around privacy and personal information. all changes to the policy will be accompanied by a change in the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
